  Stay at Home Poppet Spell

This spell is from the now defunct New Orleans Mistic website.

If your lover is wandering or will not stay at home because he/she keeps going out with friends, try this:

[NOTE: Before proceeding, please realize this work must be done over nine days and allowed to sit out on your altar.]

You will need:

A Rusty nail for Inscribing the candles
An empty Blue poppet form of doll effigy ready for stuffing
A piece of wooden board large enough to accommodate the poppet form laid flat
A roll of twine or cotton cord
Nine small nails or brads
Hammer
Dirt you have swept up from under your bed.
Dragon's Blood Ink

High John Root (if you are a man) or Orris Root (if you are a woman or gay man)

Setting the Altar

On your altar or workspace (or on the floor) draw a large Star of David or 6-pointed star with Stay at Home Sachet Powders (see fig1).  

Anoint each of the six Red Offertory Candles with Stay at Home Oil or As You Please Oil and place one at each of the six points of the star. Place your Incense Burner at the top of the Star and begin burning Stay at Home Incense Powders. Light the candles.

Preparing the Board (Symbol of the Home)

Take your Board (clean and dried). In very small print write the address you want your lover to stay 27 times. Do this in the center of the board in Dragon's Blood Ink or red ink. [ Write the address nine times, turn the board to the right and write it nine times over it - repeat one more turn (see example below). ]

Allow the ink to dry and then place a cross with Come to Me Oil in the four corners of the board. Then place a large cross with the oil over the name of your lover (see figure 3). Sprinkle the center cross with Stay at Home Sachet Powder and Dirt from under your bed.  

Baptize the board as the address of the home or apartment where you want your lover to stay. If you are Christian, you can state:

I baptize you as <100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C.> in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Make three signs of the cross over the board in Holy Water while stating the words.

If you are Pagan you might say:

"Blessed be, thou place made by art. By art made, by art changed. Thou art not wood but bricks and mortar, I name thee <insert address>. Thou art this place, between the worlds, in all the worlds. Blessed be."

Now, pass your board through the incense fumes and place you consecrated "name board" in the center of the Star.

Dressing the Pullout Candles

Using the Rusted Nail, carve the name of your lover all over the Red Pull Out Candle and Blue Pull Out Candle. where the name will no longer fit put the person's initials. Anoint the candles with both oils. Gently dust the candles with the Stay at Home Powder (do this by taking a tip of a spoonful of the powder and blow gently onto the candle).

Place the Dressed Blue Candle to the right of the board and the Dressed Red Candle to the left of the board within the center of the Star (see figure 4). Light these candles.

Making the Doll

Take the Brown Paper and write your lover's full name 27 times - as you did above on the board. Once again, anoint the four corners of the paper and the center - sprinkling the middle cross with powder and dirt. Set aside (Keep your incense going.)

Put your Cotton, 5 Herbs and 2 Powders into the Mixing Bowl. Shred the cotton and mix your herbs in well.

Begin stuffing the Poppet with the mixture. If you are using one of our doll forms, a chopstick is excellent for pushing the materials down into the feet and arms. Try to stuff the form in a fashion similar to the body type of the person. If they have extra padding in the butt or stomach - make the doll fuller in these places.

Once the doll is stuffed, roll the brown paper into a tube form. Pass it through the incense fumes and state, "This is the spine of <insert lover's full name>". Anoint the Lodestone with both oils and dust with Stay at Home Sachet Powder. Pass the Lodestone through the incense fumes and state "This is the heart of <insert lover's full name>".Place the Brown Paper in the spine area and the Lodestone in the heart area of the doll. Sew the doll shut.

At this point you can get as creative with the doll as you wish. You might embroider a face onto the poppet or make clothing out of your lover's worn clothing. Some folks take pieces of worn sock and attach them to the feet. They may also take head hair and attach it to the head and pubic hair and attach it to the genital area of the doll. The more Personal Concerns you have to tie the doll to the person - the better!

Next, baptize the doll form as you lover by using the same procedure as listed above (when you baptized the board). If you are Pagan, you might state:

"Blessed be, thou creature made by art. By art made, by art changed. Thou art not cloth but flesh and blood, I name thee <insert name>. Thou art this person, between the worlds, in all the worlds. Blessed be."

Attaching the Doll to the Board ( Your Lover to your House)

Using Nine Nails or small brads, attach the doll on the center of the board - over the address you have previously written in the center. Place the nails on the doll perimeter - DO NOT nail through the center of the doll. I would carefully push the stuffing away from the fabric and hammer the nails into the very edge of the material. Make sure the Brown Paper Spine is on the back of the doll and the Lodestone Heart is in the front. Once completed, take the Cotton Twine or String and begin wrapping and tying the doll to the board. During the tying process you will want to make sure and create a total of nine knots in the string. You may use the nails to wrap the twine around to get a nice, tight wrapping job.

Once completed, turn the board with the doll, upside down on its head. Pass it through the flames of both Pull Out Candles and then the Incense. Do this nine passes at each stop, saying the following each time (for a total of 27 times).

Tied and Nailed, you cannot stray
At this location, you must stay.

Put the board in the middle of the star. Allow the six red offertory candles to burn out. Pinch (do not blow) out the Red and Blue Pull out candles. Extinguish the incense. Each day for the next eight days, light the incense and the two Pull out candles for nine minutes. Use a Watch or Egg timer. Turn the doll on its head and pass it through the flames of both candles and the incense, repeating the previous procedure.

At the end of the nine days wrap the doll board in pink or red fabric and place it somewhere safe. Collect the wax from the six red candles and two pull out candles, plus the ash from the incense and powder from the Star of David. Bury it close to your front door.

At any point your lover does not act right, you can bring the doll out and repeat the 27 passes with the two Pull Out candles and incense. If they continue to be adulterous - you may choose to put a nail through the genital region of the doll and work the procedure again.
