if you want to make your own Florida Water, here's a recipe:
  • 16 oz of distilled water
  • 2 oz of Vodka
  • 6 drops of Bergamot Oil
  • 6 drops of Lavender Oil
  • 2 drops of Clove Oil
Florida Water has been used by the indigenous peoples of Mexico and most South American countries as a way of purifying, blessing, removing negative energies and for sacred ceremonies.


Florida Water is a 19th century formula for a commercially-prepared eau de toilet that blends an array of floral essential oils in a water-alcohol base. The name refers to the fabled Fountain of Youth said to have been located in Florida.  It is also used in Voodoo, Hoodoo and Santeria for various Rituals

Recipe For Florida Water

Oil of bergamot 3 fluid ounces
- Oil of lavender 1 fluid ounce
- Oil of lemon 1 fluid ounce
- Oil of cloves 1 1/4 fluid drachms
- Oil of cinnamon 2 1/2 fluid drachms
- Oil of neroli 1/2 fluid drachms
- Essence of jasmine 6 fluid ounces
- Essence of musk 2 fluid ounces
- Alcohol 8 pints
- Rose water 1 pint


Mix and pass it through a coffee filter. Bottle and cork tight.

Florida Water

 

4 cups of vodka (I use 90 proof)
1/2 of a fresh lime
1/2 of a  fresh lemon
4 cloves
1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers
1 tablespoon dried vervain or dried bergamot
A jar or jars large enough to hold everything, with tight lid.

~Empower the supplies for cleansing, protection, and any thing else you might need.
~Squeeze the lemon and lime juice into a large jar. Chop up the rind and what remains of the fruit and add it in the jar.
~Add the cloves, lavender, and vervain/or bergamot to the jar.
~Pour in vodka.  Cap the jar and leave it for one moon cycle.
~Shake it everyday, visualizing it growing in power everyday.
~When it has been one moon cycle.  Strain the mixture into a bowl using cheesecloth to catch all the fruit and herbs.  Then put the liquid back in the jar.  It is ready to be used.
*some people put a splash of their personal perfume in their Florida water

AMBER~ROSE’S FLORIDA WATER FORMULA

2-3 cups of Pure Vodka/Everclear or Clear Spirits
5-7 cups of Distilled Water
1 cups of Rose Water
20 drops of Rose Oil
20 drops of Ylang Ylang
12 drops of Lemon Oil
12 drops of Neroli
12 drops of Mint
7 drops of Bergamot
7 drops of Cinnamon
7 drops of Jasmine
3 drops of Lavender
3 drops of Cloves
3 drops of Hyssop
Colour: Aqua Blue- Green or leave as a natural base.

Just be careful what Rose water you use as some go cloudy when mixed with distilled water or alcohol and oils. If the clouding does occur, strain through magnesium carbonate, if you are unsure of the Rose water, you may also use Mint water or substitute the Rose water with another cup of distilled water infused with rose petals, rose oil and mint oil. The measurements of this water may depend on the size of your glass container. I suggest until you are sure, blend the oils together first, the scent should be a warm sweet but also crisp with cool undertones, sweet and minty. Warm and cool to the senses. This does make quite a large quantity.
